Transforming Youth Capacity Building Project
Our Transforming Youth Capacity Building Project (TY) is a capacity building and leadership development initiative that:

Provides holistic capacity building and leadership development services to five (5) NYC faith-based and community-based organizations serving youth (ages 14-24) who are involved in gangs or violent activity:
- CitiVision (Washington Heights/Inwood in Manhattan),
- Generation Xcel (Lower East Side in Manhattan),
- Infinity Church (Soundview in the Bronx), and
Through TY, our partnering youth-serving faith-based and community-based organizations become Holistic Ministries, which guide youth who are involved in gangs or violent activity to become strong, independent, articulate youth holistic servant leaders, who legitimately represent and are accountable to their families and communities.
TY aims to reverse the trends of youth who are involved in gangs or violent activity, who often are engaged in anti-social behavior, including violence, criminal activity, gang activity, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and non-employment. Through their active participation, out-of-school youth will grow to be:
- Effective leaders w/strong moral character,
- Peacemakers,
- Literate (effective communicators),
- Successful in school and/or their job,
- Physically-fit and arts-oriented,
- Engaged in their family life,
- Active in community affairs, and
- Mentors to peers or younger individuals.
