First Steps Child Care Center
The First Steps Childcare Center (FS) is our bilingual (English-Spanish) early-childhood development program that aims to help pre-schoolers (ages 2-5):
- Be leaders with strong moral character
- Manage their conflicts non-violently
- Become avid readers
- Make effective transitions to formal schooling
- Physically fit, arts-oriented, and nutritionally responsible
- Be positive members of their family
- Be interested in their communities
- Mentor their peers or younger individuals
We seek to develop strong, independent, articulate pre-schoolers who legitimately represent and are accountable to their families and communities. The pre-schoolers develop a greater sense of self, and serve as resources to their peers and communities.
